Origin:
In 2023, the Asia-Pacific region embarked on its post-pandemic era of development. However, factors such as climate change and geopolitical tensions continue to influence the progress of regional economic recovery. Looking ahead to 2024, whether the region can reduce uncertainties through close cooperation and concerted efforts remains a crucial question. Effectively implementing the principles of inclusivity and sustainable growth emphasized by APEC holds the potential to boost the recovery momentum. We anticipate the resolution of economic weaknesses and political conflicts and tensions that characterized 2023. Only by effectively grasping future trends can we efficiently allocate our precious limited resources, leading to improved socio-economic welfare.
緣起：
2023年的亞太區域開始後疫情時代的發展，然而氣候變遷與地緣政治緊張等因素，持續影響著區域經濟復甦的進度。展望2024年，區域能否透過密切合作與共同行動來降低不確定因素，有效地落實APEC強調的包容性與永續性成長，進而拉抬復甦動能，值得期待；期待在2024年能夠有效解決2023年經濟上的終端需求疲弱以及政治上的衝突與緊張氣氛。只有當我們能夠有效掌握未來趨勢，珍貴有限的資源才得以達到有效率的配置，政經上的福利效果才能獲得提升。
